Fanya Auto Technology Center Co. Ltd. (shorted for Fanya) is the Auto Engineering Design Corporation set up by General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group) with 50% investment respectively. The registration capital was 500 million dollars. It was founded on June 12, 1997, and provide China and ambient auto customers with world-level auto design, engineering development and test certification services.
The products development flow is highly electronic, besides adopting industrial advanced software to process Computer Assistant Sculpt, Computer Assistant Engineering and Computer Assistant Design, the newest iMAN system made Fanya on the same flat with General Motors Global Company and accomplish in-phase development. The emission center of Fanya is one of the 11 emission inspection center appointed by State Environmental Protection Administration, the only emission inspection center located in South of China, and also the first Chinese laboratory that enable to process whole set of slight gasoline Euro III emission experimentation.
In May 2003, Fanya moved to King Sport of Pudong Shanghai, the building area was 8 times of the original one, the whole area was 10 times as before. In the new location, Fanya took in advanced Euro III emission inspection facilities, and built short run-in path for simulating various toss road surface. The in the hall of design department can cut three models at the same time. In addition, some advanced engineering design establishments as the dummy laboratory, model car run-in workshop, chassis movement, dynamics parameter measuring facility and the yawp vibration laboratory, are under construction. The Fanya engineering and design ability will upgrade continually.
Meanwhile, in order to speedily promote project development ability, bring up a strong products project team, and make Fanya with higher competition in the future market, Fanya Auto Technology Center and Shanghai General Motors Co. Ldt. formed a sharable support operation system for support system, such as administration service, recombining and adjusting, on the basic of holding independent corporation operation system respectively. Till September 2004, there were 816 staff in Fanya, among which there were 800 engineers, designers and technicians.
Fanya takes the developing of taking the self-ability proving as the precondition, taking the market competition as the background, and taking the vehicle reorganizing products with independent intellectual property as the target, and will bring new breakthrough to China auto industry.
